The Geinitz Year 2025 officially opened on February 20. And from April 10, visitors can look forward to an exciting special geological exhibition at the Müritzeum.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's first state geologist Prof. Dr. Franz Eugen Geinitz and the 150th anniversary of Otto Martin Torell's inland ice theory from 1875, the Müritzeum is presenting the special exhibition "Eugen Geinitz - Exploring the Ice Age Landscape in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern." His multifaceted work, especially in ice age research and geological exploration, is the focus of this exhibition.
