A musical-lyrical evening by and with the writer Erich Kästner.
"The 13 Months" is considered one of Erich Kästner's most idyllic, and at the same time most unknown, works. This cycle of poems was written in the 1950s.
The year is small and still in its cradle. And it is not only nature that is overblossoming and fading, man is also in trouble. The little year dreams of peace. Or of war? Love outlasts even the noisy vacationers and shooting stars fall gently into the distance, like tears without sorrow. The year grows old and knows its last day. So the months sharpen our view of the outside and inside. But: if twelve is enough for you, you are beyond help!
On this evening, political texts by this controversial writer and biographical snapshots span the arc to a social and political level that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of topicality.
Julia Boegershausen and Björn Bewerich present this unknown, unmistakable work by Erich Kästner in 13 poem-songs, which were set to music for Gisela May by the composer Manfred Schmitz, and thus bring the writer Kästner to life with his childhood in his pocket, his love of developments and his questions about morality.
