Spanish saxophone quartet Kebyart with works from Weinberg to Widmann
Four young Spaniards, all still students at the time, came together ten years ago to form a saxophone quartet. The name "Kebyart" is an artificial word made up of the Balinese "kebyar" and the English "art". "Kebyar" means: to flare up suddenly, to burst out; "art" means art. "Dream of Youth" is the name of the four young men's latest CD. And a very young voice, that of the Polish composer Aleksandra Kaca, also makes itself heard in this concert. She is surrounded by the nostalgic reveries of Alexander Glasunow and the circus comedy of Jörg Widmann.
Mieczysław Weinberg: Aria op. 9 (1942), Arr. Kebyart
Alexander Glasunow: Saxophone Quartet op. 109 (1932)
Aleksandra Kaca: abisal (2021), German premiere
Krzysztof Meyer: Quartet for four saxophones op. 65a (1986)
