On the occasion of the Reuter Year, Rainer Schobeß and Susanne Bliemel will give an entertaining lecture on the important literary figure.
Fritz Reuter died 150 years ago - to mark the Reuter Year, the town of Dömitz is organizing further events. On Friday, November 8, guests can look forward to an entertaining, multimedia lecture by Rainer Schobeß and Susanne Bliemel: "Dr. Fritz Reuter - Morgens nicht zu sprechen". The two will commemorate the famous Low German author with this lecture. It starts at 3 p.m. in Dömitz town hall.
"Dr. Fritz Reuter - Not to be spoken to in the morning" - the writer had a porcelain sign with this inscription attached to his villa in Eisenach. It was intended to prevent too many admirers from ringing the doorbell. After all, the democrat and former prisoner of the fortress was a famous poet.
Fritz Reuter (1810 - 1874) from Mecklenburg achieved international success with his Low German novels and poems and re-established Low German as a literary language. The author of "Läuschen und Riemels", "Ut de Franzosentid" and "Ut mine Festungstid" was the highest-earning writer of his time with high print runs and royalties.
Rainer Schobeß and Susanne Bliemel show how relevant the poet still is today. They introduce the audience to the man and author Fritz Reuter by playing different roles. In a mixture of lecture and reading, they vividly and entertainingly describe his life, quote from letters and memoirs and read excerpts from poems and novels. There are also some unusual things to report. But more will not be revealed at this point. Let us tell you on the spot. The talk will last about an hour. You are welcome to ask questions afterwards.
