The royal cook Franz Tuppe and his scullion Bertram are making the final preparations for the big wedding feast in Sleeping Beauty's castle.
But how did it all begin? How did Sleeping Beauty meet her prince and why did this impenetrable hedge of thorns grow around the castle?
Cook and scullion tell the story with brushes and brooms, with pots and pans, with lids and pots. They also sing and make music with various instruments. In a strange way, the objects are transformed and suddenly come to life.
