At Ballhaus Tucholski, a well-established address in Loitz, which has been hit hard by change, we will make things dance ...
A film screening is planned, followed by a panel discussion. Invited are Jens Becker (author and film director), Barbara Camilla Tucholski (Künstler Gut Loitz e. V.), Karin Heymann (Kultur-Konsum Loitz), Annika Hirsekorn and Rolando Gonzalez ("Experiment Loitz") and Steffi Kühn (KulturKolchose Lehsten). About the venue: The Ballsaal Tucholski looks back on a long, eventful history that is closely linked to the work and influence of the artist and project creator Peter Tucholski. The Ballsaal Tucholski was officially opened in 1992 as an exhibition laboratory that also functions as Tucholski's studio. From 1996, Peter Tucholski created acoustic environments there in collaboration with various theaters. The Ballhaus also became a venue for workshops and socio-cultural events. Weddings, anniversaries and, in particular, dance events could now also be held at Ballhaus Tucholski. In 2011, Peter Tucholski and Barbara Camilla Tucholski founded the Loitz Art Association, which is based in the Ballhaus and presents contemporary art. The Ballhaus has now also become a permanent venue for the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival and was awarded the Nordkurier venue prize. In 2015, the project "Eine Stadt tanzt" (A City Dances) was founded, as well as a collaboration with the project "Zukunftsstadt 2030, Peenetal, Loitz" - and a dance school was established in the ballroom. Since 2015, the Ballhaus Tucholski has been a venue for concerts, theater and conferences.
