"All the birds...are not here yet..." - Ornithological evening walk through Ludwigslust Castle Park
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the NGM invites you to an evening bird song walk through Ludwigslust Castle Park. Under the guidance of biologist Mathias Hippke, visitors will listen to the diverse songs of the numerous park birds, try to track them down (it would be helpful to bring binoculars) and learn interesting facts about the species-typical songs and calls.
The "Schlosspark Ludwigslust" nature reserve is considered the best-studied area in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with almost 5,000 species - a result of the largest mapping in the state initiated and carried out by the Naturforschende Gesellschaft Mecklenburg. The bird life in the park is very diverse with 140 species recorded. These include rare species such as the stock dove, the lesser spotted flycatcher and the middle spotted woodpecker.
All interested parties are cordially invited to the excursion on Tuesday, 23.04.2024. It starts at 18:00 and will last until approx. 20:00. The meeting point is the Natureum next to the castle.
The contribution towards expenses is €3 for NGM members and €4 for guests (children half price). Participation is at your own risk (broken branches and falling trees).
