On Sunday, April 27, 2025, the Open Monastery Day will once again take place in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. During the special opening hours, the permanent exhibition "From the Stone Age to the City" and the special exhibition "Sundquilter's Treasures. Patchwork and Quilting" from 11 am to 4 pm.
The permanent exhibition focuses on the history of the Bergen nunnery from its beginnings in 1193 to its transformation into a Protestant convent and its dissolution in 1945. At the same time, the replica of the gilded Romanesque chalice and the medieval cloth richly embroidered with linen and silk with its narrative scenes invite you to marvel and pause for a moment!
At 1 p.m., patchworker Ms. Wermke-Lehr will give a guided tour of the special exhibition "Sundquilter's Treasures. Patchwork and Quilting" and talks from the sewing box.
