The celebrated ensemble plays tangos from the "Golden Era", including those by d'Arenzio, Demare, Pugliese and Salgán
When Argentine tango is performed on classical chamber music stages, nowadays you almost exclusively hear music by Astor Piazzolla. In contrast, the Cuarteto SolTango primarily performs the classics of the "Golden Era": works by the icons Aníbal Troilo, Juan D'Arienzo, Lucio Demare through to the pioneers of Tango Nuevo, Horacio Salgán and Osvaldo Pugliese, are performed in artful instrumentation by Martin Klett. The pianist, who is in demand internationally as a chamber music partner and increasingly as a harpsichordist, fulfilled a dream by founding the quartet. His passion is the tango - not only on the piano, but also on the dance floor!
