To mark World Book Day, Stralsund City Library invites you to a special craft workshop on April 23, 2025. From 16:00 to 17:00, creative minds can let their imagination run wild, because: With a little creativity, old books can be turned into decorative art objects. The workshop is aimed at anyone aged 12 and over who would like to work with their hands and do something good for the environment in the process.
World Book Day was established by UNESCO in 1995 and is celebrated worldwide. It aims to promote the joy of reading and draw attention to the importance of books for education and culture. The date was deliberately chosen as it is the anniversary of the deaths of William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes - two of the greatest writers in world history.
As the number of participants is limited, early purchase of tickets is recommended. Here, books can be used in a completely different way - not just for reading, but as creative material for small works of art.
