Quadro Nuevo
The spirited thoroughbred musicians have been touring the countries of the world since 1996 and have given around 4000 concerts to date. They have performed their songs from Bavaria to Bari, across the Balkans through the Middle East to Cairo, from Buenos Aires to Hong Kong. The venues are as diverse as the roots of their music: the ensemble not only performs at festivals and in renowned concert halls such as New York's Carnegie Hall. The playful virtuosos also travel through the Mediterranean south as street musicians and call for dancing as a nightly tango band. Always on the move, the instrumental quartet has developed its very own language of sound poetry beyond the usual genre pigeonholes. It is characterized by a passionate love of the instrument and the greatest joy of playing. The secret is dedication: rarely has music been performed with so much excitement, verve and empathy for foreign cultures.
Quadro Nuevo has twice received the ECHO as "Best Live Act of the Year", several times the German Jazz Award and a Golden Record.
