Engerling
The ENGERLING group was founded in 1975 under the name SALONORCHESTER ENGERLING. The group soon changed its name to ENGERLING BLUES BAND. From the very beginning, ENGERLING was dedicated to the blues, but the musical spectrum was later expanded to include German rock, as the blues alone limited the band too much. The first productions took place shortly after the band was founded. Wolfram Bodag and Heiner Witte have been the constants in ENGERLING since the band was founded. From the very beginning, the band managed without elaborate and spectacular stage shows and they never tried to change that. This fact is one of the reasons why the band can still count on a loyal fan base to this day and why even in the GDR era they were able to inspire young people with their music alone. The band's last studio album was released in 1997, but the group is still active. They can regularly be seen live and have been working as a permanent backing band for Mitch Ryder since 1994, with whom they also regularly go on tour. The ENGERLING musicians continue to produce new studio albums with Mitch Ryder. The band's 35th and 40th anniversaries in 2010 and 2015 were both celebrated with major concerts, which also featured various guests on stage, such as BuzzDee Baur from Knorkator and Lutz Kerschowski. The Buschfunk label released a double album of the recordings from both anniversary concerts.
