The "Connectedness" exhibition explores the interactions between human existence and the natural environment.
Based on the premises of the former E-Werk, where the relationship between humans, nature and technology has always played a central role, the current exhibition "Connectedness" with works by Malte Bartsch, Rune Bosse and Dominik Styk initiates a critical examination of the interactions and interconnectedness between human existence and the natural environment.
At the heart of the exhibition is the urgent challenge of questioning the hegemonic position of the human in favour of a re-evaluation and revaluation of the non-human. With their sculptural works, Bartsch, Bosse and Styk confront the prevailing extractivist relationships in which nature is often seen as an unlimited, interchangeable resource. This perspective has not only led to a massive exploitation of natural resources, but also to a dramatic loss of biodiversity. Connectedness therefore emphasizes the need to overcome this reductionist view. Instead, in their multimedia approaches, the artists outline the establishment of synergetic networks of relationships that recognize and promote the mutual dependence and interdependence of all forms of life.
