Concert with "Baltic Blues Boys
Live music - blues with a sideways glance at neighboring genres and styles
Blues! Blues! Blues! What Jimmy Rodgers chose as the title of his album with the crème de la crème of the blues scene in 1999 is the program for the Baltic Blues Boys: the blues with many side glances at neighboring genres and styles: Entertaining, amusing and gripping. Mario Bollinger, now based in Greifswald, and Werner Burhop from Munich and until now Arne Tank also from Greifswald, the former Eva and the disposable bottles and many other formations sprung, have joined forces at the end of 2022 to present the blues acoustically. The program of the Baltic Blues Boys includes blues standards, rarities and also new interpretations of the old themes. Nothing remains sacred, everything may be played if it is fun. Each of the four musicians has decades of scene experience to accelerate the merging of these 4 individual musicians into a brand new and red hot quartet. Quite freshly in addition Thomas Piano Schulze from Berlin with singing and evenly its piano, Werner Burhop plays the Blues at the Harps and provides for rhythm. Mario Bollinger slides and plucks acoustic blues, reso and cigar box guitars and Arne Tank provides the bassline with the basses and the Cajon. The program of the Baltic Blues Boys goes from New Orleans and Mississippi Blues standards, as well as the urban blues of Chicago to the traditional acoustic Country and Texas Blues. So a musical spectrum as wide as the mouth of the Peene River and as hot as the Baltic Sea beach in summer. Only days after the foundation the Baltic Blues Boys can already look back on their first 5 concerts. With hundreds of concerts booked throughout Germany and Europe in just as many hundreds of locations, the individual musicians of the Baltic Blues Boys are among the most successful traveling acoustic blues musicians who have actively toured Germany. The musicians have played all over Germany and have been seen in Berlin's Yorckschlösschen, Hamburg's Cotton Club, Berlin's cult location Speiches Blues&Rockkneipe and Eckernförder Spieker, among others. The Greifswald and Stralsund Pub Nights were equally well-stocked with the individual Boys. The band members were seen in the Oman River or Sixties. But also in the M.A.U. Club Rostock, in the Riders Café Lübeck, in the Empire Club Rostock, Kurpavillon Göhren and as local heroes in the St. Spiritus Greifswald seen. But also in the locations of their hometowns like Anton's in Munich or Omnibus in Würzburg or at the Blues-Will-Eat-Festival in Nuremberg the musicians have already played.
