Final concert of Vivica Genaux's master class
Vivica Genaux is and remains a world star of classical music! This summer, she returns to Rheinsberg to give the traditional master class at the Schlosstheater: the American mezzo-soprano is a true expert in Bel Canto - so it is only logical that this style of singing, this brilliant operatic epoch, is the focus of the program for the final concert.
Bellini, Donizetti and Rossini - they are the godfathers of early 19th century Italian opera. But Bel Canto - in German: beautiful singing - is even more: a range of impressive singing techniques, its own singing school and vocal high-performance sport! Vivica Genaux is on hand to mentor our young singers so that they can take on this repertoire. And, as you would expect from the American at such an event, she puts together an entertaining concert program: clever, subtle, passionate!
