The Bony King of Nowhere is back with a new record! Bram Vanparys (the Belgian musician's real name) last made a lasting impression in 2018 with the release of his critically acclaimed album Silent Days and the award for "Best Writer/Composer" at the Music Industry Awards (MIA). In February, he released his new, sixth album Everybody Knows.
The eleven tracks on Everbody Knows deal with topics such as the daily grind and blind obedience, well-worn social paths and behavioral patterns, the ignorance of so-called "big shots" and the disadvantages of modern online communication. Inspired by the observations of various sociologists, Vanparys dissects what is probably the loneliest society in human history on his new album. However, the album is not only thought-provoking, but also gives hope and strength on gray days.
While musical role models such as Neil Young and Bob Dylan are still involved in The Bony King of Nowhere, there are also references to contemporary greats in the new songs: The formative influence of PJ Harvey, Blur, Radiohead and Nick Cave, for example, can be heard unmistakably on Everybody Knows. The last tour for the album Silent Days took The Bony King of Nowhere through the Netherlands and to Belgium, Germany and France for around 75 shows.
With the fifth concert of the Poly Unique Sessions, The Bony King of Nowhere is now also making a stop in Neustrelitz.
