Border crossings: Afra Kane
Influences from completely different countries such as Nigeria, Italy, England and Switzerland characterize the biography of the cosmopolitan Afra Kane - and her piano. The singer-songwriter cites musicians as diverse as Nina Simone, Maurice Ravel and Alicia Keys as sources of inspiration. Virtuoso arrangements are her trademark and her voice is as powerful as it is seductive. Now the Swiss singer by choice is celebrating her debut in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The Theater Kulturkate e.V., sponsor of the Mecki, won the FLÜGEL Music Initiative Prize of the Nordkurier Media Group and the Festspiele MV in 2024.
