"A celebration of the keys"
Concertos for piano and orchestra are among the most popular works composed for the concert stage and have countless fans all over the world. At the spring concerts in the "Stadt.Land.Klassik!" series, you can experience two of these works, and it is certainly no exaggeration to say that they are often among the favorites of lovers of the genre: Mozart's Concerto No. 21 in C major with one of the most enchanting slow movements ever written and Rachmaninov's 2nd Concerto in C minor, that grandiose work with which he recomposed himself out of a long depression and which has the dimensions of a symphony with piano. The two pieces correspond with each other in a wonderful way. Andreas Schulz, chief conductor of the Neue Philharmonie MV, will be the soloist in the Rachmaninov with Stefan Malzew on the podium, who in turn will be the soloist in the Mozart concerto in the first part of the program. The evening will open with Wagner's Meistersinger prelude, with Lutz Schumacher conducting the program.
Program:
