First Friday of the month is movie time in Malchow
Hedwig Höß welcomes her mother. It is her first visit to the stucco villa where Hedwig lives with her children and her husband Rudolf. The sun is shining, the garden is well-tended, the flowers are blooming, the dog lets his nose drift through the greenery, vegetables and herbs are thriving, the sunflowers are overflowing, the children are splashing around in the water. The Höß family seems to live in a picture-book idyll. Only away from the walls of the property does it become clear that here - on the edge of the Auschwitz extermination camp - is hell on earth and SS-Obersturmbannführer Rudolf Höß is the devil himself... Based on the novel of the same name by Martin Amis.
