The tragicomic story of a young woman and the multiple personalities in her head with which she has to struggle through everyday life
Germany/Finland 2022, Director: Birgit Möller, Length: 114 minutes
DA: Lena Urzandowsky, Paul Pötsch, Cino David, Sophie Killer and others.
Life as a young adult can be quite overwhelming, especially when there are several people in your head at the same time. At least that's what happens to Elena, who everyone just calls Franky. A parallel world has developed in her head, a chaotic, somewhat run-down hotel with a receptionist who strives for order, a playful child, a seductive chambermaid and a bellboy who is critical of capitalism. They are all different selves of Franky and appear in turn. In her real life, Franky has to deal with the classic problems of a young woman. But much more than the question of where her life should go professionally, she is preoccupied with the desire to finally have sex.
With this work, director Birgit Möller has created a quirky, offbeat film that skillfully mixes up the usual forms of the coming-of-age genre. Lena Urzendowski succeeds in portraying the different personalities very convincingly and combining them into one person with whom it is easy to empathize.
