Christoph Möckel (bass clarinet, saxophone, Fx)
Oliver Lutz (Bass, Fx)
Moritz Baumgärtner (drums)
Christoph Möckel, according to Deutschlandfunk one of the "most promising young German saxophonists", represents a new generation of innovative jazz musicians from the German jazz capitals Berlin and Cologne in his trio with Oliver Lutz and Moritz Baumgärtner. They form an exciting trio in the rather rare line-up of bass clarinet/
saxophone, electric bass and drums. The additional use of live electronic effects enables an almost limitless exploration of sound and leads to a homogeneous and surprising fusion of contemporary improvised music with experimental jazz rock and electronic music. With this musical breadth, the trio appeals to experienced jazz listeners, but also ventures into new territory and seeks its audience at the interfaces to alternative pop music, for example. Together they create imaginative soundscapes that blossom in highly energetic improvisations and interactions. Creative jazz on the pulse of time! "A sound that is second to none!"
(Thomas Mau, WDR 3) "...sometimes spherically melodious, sometimes energetically gripping...this band sounds bigger than a trio!"
(Henning Sieverts, BR-KLASSIK-Jazztime)
