In a decorated Christmas parlor, we show almost everything that belongs to the Christmas spirit.
From December 2 to February 2, we transformed our living room into a Christmas parlor. The basis is formed by exhibits from the Erzgebirge such as pyramids, candle arches, nutcrackers, smokers and nativity scenes. In the case of the pyramids and candle arches, we show 15 of each and the smallest examples. The nutcrackers and incense smokers, 70 pieces each, are on display in all materials, such as wood, ceramic, brass and iron. The 30 nativity scenes are a small insight into the traditions of various countries around the world and we are showing one of the smallest nativity scenes.
A self-made Christmas mountain is our highlight. Minerals from all over the world have been combined with carved figures from the Giant Mountains. Before the Advent wreath and Christmas tree were used, it was common in the Giant Mountains and Ore Mountains to decorate the parlors with self-made Advent or Christmas mountains. Old Christmas mountains are over a hundred years old, but the tradition is still carried on in the Erzgebirge today.
Our little Christmas parlor is intended to bring contemplation and Christmas spirit to Mecklenburg Switzerland. We see ourselves as an addition to the many small, lovingly designed Christmas markets in our area. For example, on December 14 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Moltzow school.
You can visit our exhibition at any time by appointment - call 039953/70331 or email peter.ramsch@t-online.de.
PS: From December 18, the exhibition will be complemented by a three-meter high Christmas tree. Our garden railroad will be running around it again.
