The Rügen Women's Choir presents five festive Advent concerts by candlelight. Well-known and challenging Christmas carols will be performed, including "Es ist ein Schnee gefallen", Humperdinck's "Abendsegen" and Schubert's "Ave Maria". Marina Lebedewa and Louis Proce accompany on the piano.
Under the motto "Our hearts beat joyfully", the Rügen Women's Choir under the direction of Knut Furthmann
to five festive Christmas concerts. A varied program of well-known and challenging Christmas carols is offered. In addition to classics such as the carol motet "Es ist ein Schnee gefallen" and the "Abendsegen" from the opera "Hänsel und Gretel" by Engelbert Humperdinck, the solemn "Ave Maria" by Franz Schubert will be performed in a version for solo and choir. This year, the choir will be accompanied by pianist Marina Lebedewa from the Vorpommern-Rügen music school and 14-year-old music student Louis Proce on the piano. As always, the audience is cordially invited to sing along to popular Christmas carols.
