Jewelry workshop with Irish roots. Handmade jewelry, metalwork and sculptures.

Jason Mac Gabhann and his jewelry workshop Casúr Óir have been located in Basthorst since the fall of 2019. Casúr and Óir are the Irish words for hammer and gold. Jason has always been drawn to the ancient methods of manufacturing. Using powerful hammer blows and a hot flame to craft something unique and beautiful from precious metals is a magic he finds hard to put into words, better to experience it for yourself. Therefore, in addition to the purchase of his blacksmith works, Casúr Óir also offers courses during which you can make a piece of jewelry yourself and experience the magic of transformation.

Jason's work is influenced by his Irish roots, the textures and structures of the Irish landscape and folklore. Now he finds inspiration in the Mecklenburg landscape around Basthorst.

He enjoys discussing commissioned works with clients. The stories, thoughts and wishes heard flow into his works and make each piece something very personal and unique.

During Art Open, those interested can visit the workshop and Jason will give short demonstrations of how a piece of jewelry is made.

Casúr Óir is looking forward to your visit.
