"Pre-Christmas choral music" - with the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Youth Choir
The LandesJugendChor Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a community of teenagers and young adults aged 14 to 26 from all over the state. The diversity of its members is what makes the choir so special. With a great deal of enthusiasm for making music together, the choir offers the opportunity to create and present sophisticated choral music at a high level, to provide impetus for choral work in the singers' home choirs and to facilitate an exchange with them. The focus is on a cappella literature, but choral symphonic works are also performed. The state youth choir is representative of the diverse choral landscape in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The most recent projects after the spring rehearsal phase were concerts with works by Brahms, Mendelssohn and Ahlén and a special concert at the large sing-along project of the MV Festival. Under the direction of Daniel Arnold, the choir and the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin performed in June to mark the 200th anniversary of the premiere of Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
On 13 December 2025, the audience in the Stadtkirche Ludwigslust can expect an atmospheric, pre-Christmas program under the direction of Daniel Arnold. At the end of the concert, everyone is invited to join the choir in singing Christmas carols.
