On the former castle grounds in Sassnitz and the approx. 100-hectare park, in addition to the remains of the military and the various monuments, such as the preserved stables and various column remains, there are also legendary mind. 22 burial mounds from the Bronze Age and impressive megalithic tombs from the Neolithic period. Caspar David Friedrich painted one of these graves, which is known for its good condition and the large guard stones.
