In 1976, Wolf Rüdiger Raschke founded the rock band Karussell in Leipzig, which played successfully in various line-ups until 1989. This era came to an end in 1990.
It was not until 2007 that the son of the band's founder, Joe Raschke, succeeded in reviving Karussell. This was followed by numerous concerts and intensive creative work on new songs and lyrics.
In its long history, the band has toured extensively internationally with ten albums, film scores and music videos. Karussell has performed in Eastern and Western Europe, Scandinavia, South America and in countries such as France, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Uruguay, Cuba and Belgium.
The band takes its audience on an impressive journey through time, past and present, and has always maintained its high standards of lyrics and music.
