Rühn Monastery
Many legends are told about the coming together of these five very different characters: a prison stay together, a salon brawl or a casting show would really be possible... But they keep a low profile when it comes to their common background. Only their home town is known: Blasterfield, Texas/Tennessee. Country King elegantly interweave native elements of country, blues, swing and rock with a good dose of wit and humor to create a rousing live show. The five musicians combine the joy of playing, western ambience, craftsmanship and special powers into a complete package that is able to unite both country fans and country skeptics as music lovers into an enthusiastic audience.
The healthy irony in the lyrics and the moderation is carried by their own, true-to-style compositions and lively arrangements, which originate somewhere on the arduous path from Blasterfield to the here and now from the various life situations of the protagonists. All the clichés you've ever heard about country music are redefined in this show and, through a young and fresh interpretation, grow together into a listening and viewing pleasure in their own alternative-college-country style. Country King deliver a small musical-acting Gesamtkunstwerk that you absolutely have to experience live.
