Together with organist Marvin Lindner, the Brass Band MV dives into the world of "Between Light and Darkness".
The Brass Band MV invites all music lovers to an extraordinary concert on April 27, 2025 at 5 pm in the Heiligen-Geist-Kirche Rostock. Under the direction of conductor Patricio Cosentino, the young formation will perform for the second time in the KTV and offer the audience a varied program.
Under the title "Between Light and Shadow", this time the Brass Band MV will be playing together with Rostock organist Marvin Lindner to combine the sound of the brass band with the organ to create a truly special experience. Special arrangements of great organists such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Camille Saint-Saëns will be played to stage this rarely heard combination. Toccata and fugue are of course also included.
With this concert, the Brassband MV concludes its 10th workshop and heralds the start of its concert summer with the second of four concerts in 2025. "We got to know organist Marvin Lindner during our 2024 concert and quickly got him interested in the sound and repertoire of the Brass Band MV. The idea of a joint concert with organ and brass band emerged from the joint chorale as an encore of the "Home of Legends" program," reports association chairman Marcus Schümann and continues: "With the support of Mr Lindner on the organ and as a speaker, the audience can expect a unique experience that has never been seen before in this form in Rostock and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern."
"Large church organs and brass bands are both sound bodies with great dynamics. The audience will not soon forget the sound experience or hear it again. Thanks to the lively brass band scene, there are several composers with arrangements that we can play together," says the conductor with Argentinian-Italian roots.
