The "Queen Sophie Charlotte International Violin Competition" has been held since 2004. The competition takes place in Mirow from 17 to 21 September 2024 and is named after Princess Sophie Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who was born in Mirow in 1744 and was crowned Queen Charlotte of Great Britain alongside George III in London in 1761.
Master bow maker Jens Paulus from Markneukirchen exhibits bows for stringed instruments from his own workshop in the 3 Queens Palace on September 20, 2024. The Schloss Mirow Medal, which is awarded for the best interpretation of a classical work, is linked to the award of a violin bow by Jens Paulus from this exhibition.
