Excursion to the Große Rosin, an area of rewetted fen meadows with rare species of water birds. The ornithological hike will be accompanied by certified nature and landscape guide, Roland Prillwitz. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
Where the Peene leaves Lake Kummerow in a north-easterly direction, the fen meadows have been rewetted for ecological reasons. Thousands upon thousands of water birds have found an area here where they can rest, sleep, find food and raise their young. Rare species such as red-throated and black-necked grebes, spoonbills and marsh harriers are among them. With a bit of luck, white-tailed eagles and cranes can also be observed.
This excursion is accompanied by Roland Prillwitz, a certified nature and landscape guide. The meeting point is the parking lot in Kützerhof in the direction of Aalbude, where the hike starts at 10 am. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
Participants should bring weatherproof clothing, footwear and some provisions.
