The legendary Advent market at Rühn Monastery near Bützow starts again on the third weekend in Advent. A contemplative atmosphere instead of the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle. In the medieval monastery complex in Rühn, you can buy all the presents you need.
While your children listen to the storyteller, you can relax and shop while listening to handmade Advent music.
Experience more than 60 artisans and producers from near and far with their products: Nativity scenes, game, wooden toys, garden ceramics, jewelry, delicious goat cheese, antiques, organic sausages, paintings, herbal essences, hand-woven goods, woodturning, ceramics, veduta paintings, scarves and hats and much, much more.
Of course, the tenants of the monastery also present themselves. There are now 13 small workshops that have settled in the monastery. The spectrum ranges from a carpentry workshop to jewelry art and painting.
The Klosterverein Rühn e.V. (which, as the owner of the monastery complex, takes care of its preservation and restoration on a voluntary basis, which is probably unique in Germany) is now organizing the Advent market for the fourteenth time.
In recent years, more than 7,000 guests have regularly visited the Advent market in the almost 800-year-old ensemble of buildings near Bützow.
The Advent market starts at 10 a.m. on both days and ends at 6 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, the market is open from 10 am to 5 pm.
The admission prices have remained stable, unlike everywhere else: Children up to the age of 12 have free admission, all others pay €2.50. All proceeds go towards the renovation of the monastery, which the monastery association began with the purchase of the grounds in 2008.
Subject to change without notice.
Organizers are: Klosterverein Rühn e.V. and the Ev.-Luth. parish of Bützow in the Baumgarten area.
