A-capella vocal music with the vocal ensemble "Les Fleurs du Mal" Berlin with works by Monteverdi and Gesualdo
An a cappella concert on Island of Rügen "Between the Seas", offers you a wonderful opportunity to experience the uniqueness of the island in combination with Renaissance music. The sound of the sea and the vastness of the sky are musically accompanied by works by Claudio Monteverdi and Carlo Gesualdo. Baudelaire, whose work "Les Fleurs du Mal" gives our ensemble its name, also dealt intensively with such themes. His art unites the fleeting and the eternal, the beautiful and the abysmal. This tension is also reflected in our program today, which explores various facets of transience and inner turmoil in works by Monteverdi's "Sestina" and L'Arianna.
