The Early Music Ensemble from Bad Doberan, consisting of four talented young musicians, will perform at the Kunsthalle Kühlungsborn on March 28.
Baroque meets pop
Many young people could not imagine life without music. It becomes a faithful companion from childhood onwards. By learning and constantly cultivating an instrument, this bond is strengthened even more. The musical education of young people gives them a deeper understanding of the messages of music. The hub of musical acquaintances in this region is the Rostock district music school in Bad Doberan. It was here that we came together, albeit at different times and with different line-ups, in the Bad Doberan Early Music Ensemble, under the direction of Silja Wiebe and Ariane Spiegel. Rebekka Steidler, then on harpsichord, Isabella F. Brackertz as first recorder, Jannik Brockmann on cello and the newest member Caroline Cleemann as second recorder. Since then, we have developed a deep musical friendship and expertise through concerts, competitions such as Jugend Musiziert, further training and rehearsal days.
Rebekka Steidler has been playing the piano for eleven years. During her musical career, she has received two scholarships and attended workshops organized by YARO for Jugend Musiziert at the Hmt Rostock with Lilit Grigoryan. She first played in the Bad Doberan Early Music Ensemble in 2022, together with Isabella Brackertz and later Jannik Brockmann.
Caroline Cleemann started in Esther Kleindienst's recorder class at the Rostock Conservatory in 2015, where she is still taught by her today. Over the years, she has successfully competed in the Jugend musiziert competition several times, both solo and in ensembles, and has also achieved the conservatory's lower and middle school diplomas. Since fall 2024, Caroline has been playing in the Early Music Ensemble as a second recorder, allowing her to enjoy recorder lessons and ensemble playing from two music schools at the same time.
Isabella F. Brackertz has been playing the recorder since the age of four and a half. She had her first performances and duet experiences at a young age with her brother on the piano. After switching to alto recorder, she joined the Early Music Ensemble in September 2021 and took part in Jugend Musiziert for the first time in 2022. Since then, she has played with the ensemble at several competitions. With a great enthusiasm for Georg Phillip Telemann, she has now been with the ensemble the longest.
Jannik Brockmann has been playing the cello for ten years and has been supported by YARO for some time. He has already taken part in various workshops and played in different orchestras.
From early to high to late baroque, renaissance and modern, we offer a wide variety of ideas and soundscapes. Be it Vivaldi, Telemann or contemporary artists. We put meaning into every note. From arrangements to original compositions.
Whether with piano, recorder or cello: nothing stands in the way of the sound unfolding.
The young musicians of the Bad Doberan Early Music Ensemble demonstrate their skills with full commitment, sound and great passion. An evening where baroque, pop and modern meet.
