Concerto for violin and harpsichord
The Bach Week begins with a family reunion of the Bach family of musicians. Claudia Mende and Gerd Amelung will perform sonatas by Johann Ernst Bach and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. Johann Ernst studied under his godfather Johann Sebastian in Leipzig and succeeded his father Johann Bernhard as organist in Eisenach. Carl Philipp Emanuel, also known as Berliner or Hamburger Bach, is considered the most famous of Bach's sons.
