Lutz Dammbeck loves to cross borders. He is a filmmaker, conceptual artist and author - an artistic border crosser in whose media productions the artistic genres flow together. His works do not take a stand in the conventional sense that they can be quickly pigeonholed aesthetically. They are provocative because they are multi-layered and ambiguous, because they leave room for your own thoughts and associations.

The exhibition at Künstlerhaus Lukas (3.10. to 6.10.2024) brings together artistic, documentary and scientific material that Lutz Dammbeck has collected and literarily processed over the years and published in 2023 in "SEEK. Der Golem kommt - Affairen mit Kunst, Wissenschaft und Technologie" (Spector Books) in 2023. Lutz Dammbeck essayistically traces the alarming development of the post-war period: The dominance and glorification of technology, the economization of life and the will to subjugate nature. Thus, according to Dammbeck, something mechanical, abstract, cold, without soul, without sensuality, without mindfulness for people, animals and plants emerged after 1945.
