Live concert, 8 pm Anna Lucia is a musician and artist who works at the interface between music, performance and visual visual arts. With her magnetic voice she fuses elements of poetry, film music and drone into drone into ecstatic pop songs.
Anna Lucia is a Berlin-based musician and artist who works at the intersection of music, performance and visual art. Female mysticism, the position of the female body in a patriarchal society and the fascination for women who rebel against it are recurring themes in her music. Through her lyrics, she channels these figures and plays with the audience's perspectives and expectations, using an alternative narrative that anachronistically jumps back and forth between different stories, both imaginary and real.
Central to this is her magnetic voice, which transforms elements of poetry, film music and drone into ecstatic pop laments that oscillate between hope and despair. Dark, powerful moments coexist with passages of fragility and gentleness. Her songs are cinematic in the way they reveal their narratives, and she views songwriting as akin to composing an imaginary movie score. This also influences and is informed by her work as a freelance composer for films, performances and installations shown in galleries, festivals and theater spaces.
Anna Lucia's concert takes place as part of Schwerin's Culture Night and starts at 8 pm. The Kunstverein and the current exhibition by Ton Matton will be open on this day from 3 pm to 11 pm.
