The tradition of the Zeese trawls (German: “Zeesboote” are boats that use special fishing gear for bottom trawling in the coastal water of Pomerania.) is celebrated in the harbour of Althagen with an arts and crafts market, maritime crafts, culinary delicacies and live music.
Set sail for the 31st Althäger fishing regatta!
Almost a hundred years ago, fishermen used to organize their Zeesboot regattas in autumn just for fun. The maritime folk festival still brings the old tradition of the Zeesboote to life year after year. The historic fishing boats with their brown sails start their race at around 1 pm. The spectacle is accompanied by a maritime market, various musical performances and culinary delights from 10 am. In the evening, the party continues into the night with music. The view of the illuminated Zees boats under the starry sky rounds off the evening's romantic harbor atmosphere.
