Eleven-year-old Jackson and his younger sister walk 15 kilometers through the Kenyan steppe every morning to get to their school. The journey to school is even longer for twelve-year-old Zahira, who has to walk 22 kilometers through the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to get to her school. At least she only has to make this journey once a week, as she can stay at the boarding school during the school week.
Eleven-year-old Carlos can make his 18-kilometre journey to school through eastern Patagonia on his horse - together with his younger sister Micaela. 13-year-old Samuel from East Bengal (India) needs a wheelchair and the help of his two brothers.
No matter how difficult the journey, the children accept the hardships because they know that only education can open the way to a better future for them.
