The popular park festival will once again take place this year in the Retzow district of the municipality of Rechlin. On July 6, 2024, it's that time again and lots of attractions and surprises await young and old in the park in Retzow.
A special event is coming up this year, as the Parkfest celebrates its 40th birthday!
The Parkfest committee is delighted to invite you all to the anniversary of this traditional event and to have fun, laugh and celebrate with you. This year's festival promises to be full of fun, joy and music. There will be something for all age groups.
After 40 years of Parkfest, it's time to look back and revive some old traditions. In order to be able to immerse ourselves in the past, we need your help. The Park Festival Committee is looking for contemporary witnesses who remember the first festivals and can tell us how the festival came about, who organized it in the beginning and made it the event it is today. At this year's park festival, we also want to show pictures from the past. Anyone who still has old photos or documents from the past, perhaps even from the early years, is welcome to get in touch. This year, too, the starting signal will be given at 3 p.m. on the festival grounds in the park with the official opening by the mayor. A cozy coffee table will be offered for senior citizens. With coffee, home-baked cake and hopefully sunny weather, we look forward to the first performances of the day by the Müritztanzverein e.V.
For the younger guests, there will not only be horses for a short ride, but also a bouncy castle, a craft street, face painting and many other attractions waiting to be conquered. Magician Johannes will provide entertainment and plenty of amazement with his show in the afternoon. Clown Flori will also be there with his balloon figures and, of course, the Rechlin volunteer fire department, who will be offering rides in their fire engine.
Local businesses will provide food and drink around the clock and there will also be one or two surprises in the evening. It will not only be colorful under the canopy, but also quite hot. However, this will not only be due to the good music from DJ Andy, which will turn night into day in Retzow and keep the dancing going well into the early hours, but also to the guests at the anniversary evening.
Looking back on the past year, the Park Festival Committee would like to thank all the volunteers for their great support in every respect. A big thank you also goes to the Rechlin volunteer fire department, the Rechlin building yard and the municipalities of Rechlin and Lärz.
