32nd Neubrandenburg Jazz Spring, Anke Helfrich Trio, opening concert
The multi-award-winning pianist Anke Helfrich is one of Germany's outstanding jazz musicians. Her style combines the American jazz tradition with European influences, blues with sensuality of sound and virtuosity with the ability to tell stories. She fuses music and attitude into highly interesting projects, such as her current program "WE'LL RISE", which is about making inspiring women and forgotten pioneers visible. One of her compositions was included in the book "New Standards: by Women Composers", published by the American Terri Lyne Carrington in 2022. Helfrich has also long been recognized internationally.
