The Brunnenaue has been part of Stralsund for over 300 years. 300 years of continuous growth and decay in the same place. Initially located in front of the fortress in front of the Kniepertor, then the first public park of a city growing beyond its walls and today both a haven of peace and a link between the suburbs and the old town. Many of the historical traces can still be found and tell the stories of what is hidden in plain sight. In the context of the settlement and cultural history, the walk explains the long journey from the wooden health fountain to the concrete fountain and makes the development of the piece of Stralsund with the name Brunnenaue comprehensible and understandable.
