A play for young people aged 14 and over Company Nick
3 min a piece about curse and migration
In the Mexican desert, a border fence opens for 3 minutes.
Families that have been separated for decades can meet in the dry riverbed of the Rio Bravo. Then the fence closes again, separating the people once more. This production began with a seven-week trip to Mexico to encounter this human tragedy in the middle of the desert and turn it into a play.
Then came Corona and the end of these plans. What remained was the motif of the three-minute encounters and the question of what can be told in this brief moment. We embarked on a new journey of thought and asked ourselves what migration, borders and flight mean for our social we, as a white, privileged, suspended team of artists.
There are two actors exploring the magic and the burden of the moment, on a bare stage with a clock running backwards for 3 minutes again and again and again and again.
The result is a symbol of the multiple division of this world at all borders.
