Romantic song recital
The Mecklenburg singer Lars Grünwoldt and his Italian pianist Andrea Rucli are coming to Vietgest Castle on 8 February 2025 at 20:00 with a famous song cycle by Franz Schubert.
Together they will interpret the romantic Winterreise based on texts by Wilhelm Müller - a work that the two of them have already performed in Rome at the Vatican, among other places.
Baritone Lars Grünwoldt was born in Teterow and has recently returned to his native Mecklenburg.
After studying at the music academies in Rostock, Hamburg and Berlin (HfM Hanns Eisler), where he graduated in 2004 with a diploma under Prof. Scot Weir, he went on to sing opera productions at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Berlin State Opera, the National Theater Luxembourg and the Hamburg State Opera. As a sought-after Lied interpreter and chamber music partner, he has regularly sung recitals at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic since 2015. The artist, who learned the art of lieder singing from Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, among others, returns here time and again. His international concert activities have taken him not only throughout Germany, but also to many European countries and even to China, where he performed as an ambassador of the German Lied with singers such as Jose Carreras at a festival near Tibet. In 2013, the two musicians accepted an invitation to Rome to perform Schubert's Winterreise for the Vatican.
Andrea studied at the Florentine Academy of Music "Luigi Cherubini" with Alessandro Specchi and was subsequently assistant to Konstantin Bogino for many years. He also won many first and second prizes at competitions in Alberga, Como and Aversa, among others.
He has performed at many chamber music festivals all over the world, such as Kuhmo in Finland, Sounding in Israel and the St. Petersburg Chamber Music Festival. A very important chamber music partner was his friend, the composer and violist Vladimir Mendelssohn (1949-2021). Andrea currently teaches as a full professor at the conservatory in Udine.
The two musicians met for the first time during a chamber music festival in Limone sul Garda.
