Further education and training opportunities for artists and creative professionals who work or want to work in education.
The forum sees itself as an experimental space at the interface between art and education. In addition to professional impulses and work phases in small groups, artistic methods are also used in the examination of module content. In continuing education, we assume that the artistic process - in which the cultural practitioners are experts - is the basis and the central cognitive process for the associated educational process. Artists remain artists in continuing education - they should not become teachers. Artists offer different approaches to understanding the world and interpreting knowledge. These special (educational) potentials must be tapped into.
The training takes place in 5 full-day face-to-face events at the Vorpommern-Rügen Youth Art School in Stralsund. A certificate of completion is issued after successful completion of at least 4 modules. Participation in all modules is free of charge.
Module 3:
Challenges of mediation
Based on the theoretical model of "threads of tension" in pedagogical-artistic relationships, we develop the principle of action "Reflection in Action". This principle makes it possible to act flexibly, solution- and action-oriented in artistic-educational contexts as well as in challenging group situations. Using the "threads of tension", we look at different perspectives and objectives of projects, discuss implementation scenarios and describe methods and processes. The focus is on practical approaches: We use methods of "collegial consulting" and analyze challenging project situations.
Module 4:
Cooperation with the education system
Projects with schools are a central field of work in cultural education. Artists and cultural practitioners bring a wide range of cultural techniques, their craft and their specific perspective to educational institutions. Following on from our vision of good education, we explore the concepts of cultural education and look at current practice in cooperation with educational institutions in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. We provide information on a school's internal organizational processes, responsibilities and schedules and prepare the teaching teams and workshop concepts for the practical project.
