ethnic sounds - passion - energy - Dikanda is coming to the Kulturhafen!

Dikanda, formed in 1997 in Szczecin (northern Poland), is a group that belongs to the genre of "world music". In their almost 30-year history, they have recorded eight albums and given around 2,000 concerts all over the world - from the USA to Bangladesh, from Sweden to Morocco. Their recognition by the public has been confirmed several times by awards and prizes.

Dikanda's concerts - focused on live acts and direct contact with the audience - are a fiery, emotionally charged journey through diverse sounds, places and feelings. The members of the group are constantly searching for new forms of expression. They are inspired by musical encounters, from which an unexpected, astonishing and bold world of sound emerges. This world is enriched by the music of the Balkan primordial sources, the Middle East, the Carpathians, but also the Orient and Africa - and by everything that surrounds them.

Their universal message is conveyed through traditional folk songs, but above all through their unique, one-of-a-kind musical narrative. It is conveyed not only through sounds, but also through seemingly meaningless words - in a finely honed language of emotions and the heart: "Dikandish".
