The goat stones are part of a group of several megalithic burial sites along the coastal path between Lanchen-Granitz and Groß Stresow
The Goat Stones or "Victory Stones" are understood to be an approx. 35 m long large dolmen with a partly well-preserved trapezoidal mound bed and two large guard stones. When this impressive megalithic grave was archaeologically investigated in 1969, seven Slavic urns came to light in addition to the typical finds from the Funnel Beaker Culture. In the case of megalithic graves, a renewed use over longer periods of time - here over approx. 4000 years - in the form of reburials is not uncommon.
