The conception for this work dates back to 1988. The group was to stand on the green area of a retirement home in Rostock Groß Klein. The idea was to depict two old people in conversation, in a situation that would allow the viewer to make a variety of associations. Thoughts about the past, life's achievements, the meaning of life, memories, things that are important when the remaining distance becomes manageable.
As a result of developments after 1990, the group could not be realized until 1993/94. It found on suggestion of the cultural office Ribnitz and the city architect in the year 2000 its final place on the very beautiful and afür almost ideal monastery area Ribnitz.
