The oldest part of Herrnburg village church is the square box choir with its three east windows, which is typical for the area. The choir is dated to the middle of the 13th century. The nave and the sacristy are much older and are assigned to the late Gothic period at the end of the 15th century. The mighty church tower is even younger and was placed in front of the west side of the nave in the first half of the 16th century.
