The Kölpinsee is a 30-hectare beach lake.
It is only two hundred meters from the Baltic Sea and separated from it by a low foredune and a protective dyke. There is a circular path that leads around the lake. The name comes from the Slavic and means Swan Lake (colpa = swan). Swans can be seen raising their young here every year [Image: Ch. Pagenkopf].
